Just confirmed: Madelaine Wong to read from Cradling the Past…

Cradling the Past: A Biography of Margaret Shaw by Madelaine Wong and Margaret Shaw (paperback, $18.90)

On April 17th at 2:00pm Madelaine Wong, co-author of Cradling the Past: The Life of Margaret Shaw will join us at the Owl’s Nest for a reading and signing.

Ms. Wong, along with her mother Margaret Shaw, has created a book that is a wonderful record of a life in Alberta.  Margaret Shaw grew up in the Great Depression, attended a convent school where she struggled for acceptance, and was a teacher in a one-room-schoolhouse during the Second World War.  She raised ten children, two of them diagnosed with autism.

It’s stories like Margaret Shaw’s that are too often forgotten, but they are the stories that have shaped Alberta into what it is today.

Madelaine Wong will be reading from Cradling the Past at 2:00pm on Saturday, the 17th of April.   The reading will be followed by a quick question period, then a signing.

We look forward to seeing you there.
